Gerald Louis 'Jerry' Vaughn -- was
carried home by the angels as he was surrounded by his loved ones in the
home of his son (Ed Wilkinson) on Celeste Road on Friday, March 31,
2006. Jerry was born in Perdido, AL on October 10, 1942 and was a life
long resident of Saraland, AL. He was a loved and respected coach for
both baseball and youth football. He helped many a young man to learn
their potential, in loving the sport as well as learning the rules. He
loved to fish and hunt as well as to tell the tales from both. He
retired from Kimberly Clark after over 30 years of service. Jerry's
devotion and his willingness to help in every way, shown forth to
encompass the people he loved. You knew that Jerry loved you because he
cared enough to be there for you. He was preceded in death by one
sister, Betty King and two brothers, M.W. Vaughn and Robert Vaughn. He
leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Ellen D. Easley Vaughn and
his devoted family; two sons, Ed (Camille) Wilkinson and Randy
(Jennifer) Vaughn, both of Saraland; one daughter, Linda Wilkinson,
Semmes; devoted grandchildren, Bo (Brandy) Wilkinson, Cody Vaughn,
Crystal Wilkinson, Brooke Vaughn, Wayne Cunningham and Scott Cunningham;
three great grandchildren, Zack Wilkinson, Ryleigh Wilkinson and an
unborn child now known as Baby Wilkinson; three brothers, J.B. (Linda)
Vaughn, Kenneth Vaughn and Johnny (Debbie) Vaughn; two sisters, Linda
(Bruce) Odom and Miriam Morrow. His memory will also be cherished by
several special nephews who spent a lot of time with this special uncle,
Joey Courtney, Bubba Vaughn, Jerome Odom, Jeremy Odom, Jimmy Marlow and
Danny Marlow, and his special caregivers, Jackie Foster and Sharon
Frierson. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory numerous other
nieces, nephews, other relatives and a long list of friends. Jerry will
be sadly missed by all who knew or had come in contact with him on a
daily basis. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney
Funeral Home on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be
Sunday, April 2, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral
home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by
