When I was
an undergraduate at the University of Alabama, I decided to
shorten the name to "Bea". Now, when Sarah Hendricks Schemmer
and I talk to each other, she always makes fun of the name
change. My husband is Paul F. Strong. He is a UA grad from
Northport. We have been married 28 years. We are both retired
from the Tuscaloosa County School System (Paul in 2000 after 30
years, me in 2002 after 32 1/2 years). My husband has retired to
the UA Rec Center; he loves basketball and tries to play/workout
three times a week. We had season tickets to the UA basketball
games for two years before we got married. I was totally retired
for almost an entire summer. I have been an adjunct instructor
in the Math department at Shelton State Community College in
Tuscaloosa. We live in Paul's grandparents' house in Northport. It was built in the 1920s; we love it and hate it. We have been in the middle of a remodel since 2001. Indecision is the root of the problem. We are parishioners of Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa. We were married in the chapel there during Lent.. I'll send more later. Bea |
