Gloria Dell Ogletree Maxwell, a member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church in Saraland, died Sunday in an area hospital. She was 67. Maxwell was a native of Mobile and a resident of Saraland. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Maxwell of Saraland and Georgi Maxwell of Mobile; and one sister, Mary Anne Williams; and one brother, Frank Williams, both of Saraland. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Industrial Parkway in Saraland, where the service will be Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Additional info on our classmate and my very good life long friend, by Elaine (Havard) Karsner. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Dell Smith Ogletree. She grew up in Whistler, attended Whistler Elementary and K. J. Clark Jr. High Schools and graduated from Vigor HS in 1960. She was married to Jake Maxwell for more than 20 years. They were divorced. She died of a massive stroke after a number of years of ill health.
