Following graduation from Vigor High School, Kenny entered the University of Alabama – where he earned his BA degree, and then was accepted into the Law School at the University of Alabama. During his time at the university, he married Pam Jones – also a graduate of Vigor High School.

In March of 1966, during his final months before earning his law degree, Kenny and his wife returned to Mobile with their infant daughter – Stephanie. Kenny had been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and returned home to be with family while receiving treatment. In May, he was awarded his law degree. While undergoing chemotherapy at Mobile Infirmary, Kenny died in October of 1966.

He is survived by his mom and three brothers – Jim, Gary, and Steve; as well as his former wife, Pam (who has since married a wonderful man, Merrill McRae); his daughter, Stephanie, and two grandsons – Trey and Chase.
