I have been married twice. First hubby was a VHS graduate. We parted ways and I later married Gene Karsner, a Hoosier who transferred to GA with State Farm Ins. Gene passed away in 2008. He always enjoyed our class reunions....and thought he was one of "us."
My two
daughters, Shannon and Courtenay, live in north GA. Shannon
works for a pharmaceutical company in Marietta, GA and
Courtenay is a radiation therapist in Gainesville, GA.
Courtenay's husband, Jon, is a special son-in-law to me.
Shannon is single.
I have
2 grown granddaughters, Piper and Peyton, and 2 almost grown
grandsons, Will and Ben. Piper teaches 4th grade, Peyton is
in college and the boys are still in school. They call me
Mimi.
I graduated from Darton
College in Albany GA with degrees in Accounting and
Computer Science and was a Sr. Computer
Programmer/analyst in Albany and later in the Atlanta
area for more than 20 years. I loved developing
software...that was my niche.
I have been retired since 2001 and have lived in the NE
GA mountains since then. I stay busy with family and
church activities and piddling in the yard and I love to
travel. I am active in my church doing whatever needs
to be done. I plan to remain a "mountain woman" for as
long as I can hire someone to cut the grass and do other
"man" jobs around the house. So far so good.
